May 24, 2020 Camping Season Update

Friends Family and Campers of Greenwood Acres Family Campground,

With the Governors most recent extension to the “Stay Home Stay Safe” order, now ending June 12th, we have made some adaptions. Our opening will be a gradual process to protect our campers, staff, and local communities.

Stage 1. Starting June 1st we will start welcoming campers who are registered as a 2020 Diamond Pass Seasonal and Standard Seasonal.

Stage 2. June 12th (“Stay Home” order is scheduled to be lifted) we will start welcoming back campers that are registered for On-Site Storage Only.

Stage 3. July 5th we will start hosting (previously made) overnight reservations.

We will be making appointments for campers registered for “On-Site Storage Only” only as necessary.

Seasonal Camping: Those who purchased the “Diamond” pass will receive a credit for all spring daily fees and any missed camping starting the Friday of Memorial weekend, up to our opening day. For those that have opted out of the “Diamond Pass” but still paid the “Standard Seasonal” fee, will be receiving a credit for any missed camping starting Friday of Memorial weekend, up to our opening day.

On-Site Storage Only: option for those that would plan to do little to no camping during the 2020 season but would like to maintain their seasonal site and status for the 2021 season. We created the storage only option to relieve the worry of health and/or financial burdens caused by COVID-19. We are aiming to help as many campers as possible keep their sites for future camping through these uncertain times.

Overnight Camping: We are unavailable to host short stay/overnight reservations, due to arrive on or before July 5th. All reservations we are unable to host will receive full credit of their payment to their account. You may forward that to a 2021 reservation or request to have it fully refunded. Overnight reservations due to arrive on or after July 6th are still being honored and we fully intend to host, permitting the “Stay Home’ order has been lifted in advance. Emails will be sent to those who currently have a 2020 reservation, notifying campers that they will need to have self-contained units for their stay. We are not accepting any new short stay or nightly reservations at this time.

Visitors: Visitors will not be permitted this camping season (until further notice) unless, absolutely necessary, pre-approved, and scheduled in advance with Greenwood Acres Family Campground.

Store: Will be opening soon, with restrictions.

Pool: Will be ready to open once restrictions are lifted. Limited people will likely be able to swim at one time.

Scheduled Events and Entertainment: All scheduled events and entertainment have been put on hold through August 1st at this time.

Guest and Camper Assistance: We have recently welcomed back much needed and required staff to operate. We are now answering phones and emails 9:00 am-5:00 pm 7 days, starting Monday May 25th.

For added safety, we are preparing to keep our office closed and will be assisting campers at their campsites. Campers on-site may call 5175228600 to request an appointment and one of our team members will be happy to assist you at your site.

We do not know at this time if or when we will be a opening our remaining buildings and common areas. Their opening will depend on many future factors pertaining to COVID-19, this will include our office, restrooms/bath houses, playgrounds, rec center, cafe and jumping pillow.

Camping units must be self-contained: Meaning, your unit provides all necessary amenities such as toilet and shower. Our dump station will be open and available. Our certified waste water management team has determined individual septic pump-outs will NOT be a provided service at this time. These changes will be in effect until further notice.

As we progressively open for camping, we ALL MUST proceed with caution and we ALL MUST continue to practice social distancing. The health and safety of our campers, their families, and staff is not something we are willing to compromise on.

While there are safety measures to be followed, there are still a good bunch of activities for guests to enjoy, relish and relax with including: golf, mini golf, tennis, shuffle board, fishing, golf carts rides, biking, walking, running, campfires, and beach access, are just some of the activities that will still be available for campers enjoyment.

Greenwood Acres Family Campground Owners and Staff THANK YOU for your kindness and consistent support! We are committed to providing the best possible camping experience during these historic and uncertain times. Our goal is to provide a safe yet fun environment for our campers and their families to continue making life long memories!

Respectfully Submitted,
Management & Family of Greenwood Acres Family Campground
